Covent Garden Studio

This compact pied-à-terre at the top of a 200-year-old building combines modern living with innovative design. By purchasing the upper part of the common stair core, we created a two-and-a-half-storey-high entrance hall flooded with natural light. The space above the stairs accommodates a discreet micro kitchen and a concealed study desk. A suspended shower room with etched glass walls and a bathroom illuminated from two sides complete the apartment's elegant, functional design.

The shower room is also suspended over the old common parts and with a full height etched glass wall, borrows light from the stair core.

The reception room creates calm from the bustle of Bedford Street.

By purchasing the upper part of the common parts stair core, we were able to create a two and a half storey high entrance hall flooded with morning light. The space above the stairs allowed us to insert a micro kitchen a half level up, screened from view but with a view of the whole apartment. A study desk is revealed behind sliding panels.

The bathroom, while compact, has light from 2 sides, a double-ended bath, a generous shower and font as a wash hand basin.
