Holland Park Villa

A contemporary interior formed behind a Grade-II-listed façade. American black walnut floors are used to link the many levels and also for key pieces of fitted and bespoke loose furniture. Views north to Holland Park and south to the mews create open-plan dual-aspect living spaces throughout the main floor. The house is designed to open up to welcome visiting family, or to close down when the family are travelling.

Front and rear façade walls are thickened to create hidden storage and layers of fabric filtering light.

American black walnut floors are used to link the many levels and also for key pieces of fitted and bespoke loose furniture. Spaces are lit indirectly across the floor from benches, along the walls from niches and vertical slots.

Caramelised American black walnut floors flow through 4 floors like liquid wood. The main reception floor is open plan but can be closed off by releasing concealed pivot doors from magnetic catches. Views north to Holland Park and south to the mews create open-plan dual-aspect living spaces throughout the main floor. The house is designed to open up to welcome visiting family, or to close down when the family are travelling.

The kitchen with a floating drawer unit and worktop to one side and floor-to-ceiling storage to the opposing side, lit by colour-changing light washing the wall and ceiling.

The dual aspect guest suite with its own roof terrace to the south. Sitting, sleeping, and study areas are defined by changes in level but unified by a 12m-long desk, shelf, and bench seat.
